We are running a pilot scheme where local track event
participants can host their
in-car videos on the Circuit Exposure web server for
free! Why are we doing this .... well simply
because we all love motorsport and want to share and promote
this wonderful pastime to the world!!
Are you fed up watching the usual low resolution You Tube or Google
uploaded videos.....? What we are trying to offer is a similar
service to the local motorsport community but with much higher
quality streaming video, similar to what you would normally see
on your PC/Mac improving the viewing experience for all.
So, how does all this work? If you want to upload your
video you require us to provide you with a personal and reusable
FTP account (email us at
email@neiljdawson.com for details) so that you can upload
your video(s) onto our system. We then convert your video(s) as
required and place them on the website for everyone to see. The
videos displayed can also be freely downloaded or links can be
copied for use on other websites / forums as required.
Note: unlike You Tube this
process will not be instantaneous but we will try our best to
get videos hosted within 24 hrs.
Ideally videos will be uploaded in *.wmv format (320 x 240 - best
quality). Videos with this
format can usually be created using video conversion programs
such as Windows Movie Maker, AVS or equivalent. Otherwise, if
you are unsure about this we can convert to this format for you
following your upload. We have recently beta tested concurrent
*.mpg uploads of around 1Gb without problems so with favourable
internet connections the file transfer process looks promising!
What software do you need? You require FTP client software
installed on your PC/Mac. If you don't have FTP software we
recommend installing FileZilla Client software which is
currently available for free at:
http://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client
This is easy to install. All we require after that is a quick
email to let us know that you have uploaded files along with
some details of the video, eg. Name, Car details, track event
and date.
This facility is not restricted to new video footage. You can
dig out these old ones for all to see too!
Look forward to receiving your videos!!
Cheers,
Neil
